Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, registering an account, or otherwise using Church Bridge, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you are using the Service on behalf of a church, organization, or other entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

2. Eligibility

To use Church Bridge, you must meet the following requirements:

• —You must be at least 13 years old, or 16 if you reside in the European Economic Area.
• —You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account.
• —You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract in your jurisdiction.
• —You must not be barred from using the Service under applicable law.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for safeguarding your account and for any activity that occurs under it.

• —Keep your login credentials (email, password, OAuth tokens) confidential.
• —Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
• —You are liable for actions taken through your account, whether or not authorized by you.
• —We may require additional verification for certain actions or features.
• —One person per account; sharing accounts is not permitted.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Church Bridge in any way that violates applicable law or these Terms. Prohibited activities include, but are not limited to:

• —Harassing, threatening, defaming, or intimidating other users.
• —Posting content that is illegal, obscene, hateful, discriminatory, or promotes violence.
• —Impersonating any person or entity, including other Church Bridge users or staff.
• —Uploading malware, viruses, or any code designed to disrupt the Service.
• —Attempting to reverse engineer, decompile, or gain unauthorized access to the Service.
• —Scraping, crawling, or using automated tools to collect data from the Service.
• —Sending spam, unsolicited advertisements, or chain messages.
• —Sharing content that infringes the intellectual property rights of others.
• —Using the Service to commit fraud or any other unlawful act.
• —Circumventing moderation tools or any rate limits imposed by the Service.

5. User Content & License

Church Bridge allows you to post prayer requests, comments, ministry signups, elder questions, event responses, images, and other content ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content, but by submitting it you grant us the rights described below.

• —You grant Church Bridge a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, and modify your User Content solely for operating and improving the Service.
• —You represent and warrant that you own or have all necessary rights to your User Content and that it does not infringe any third party's rights.
• —You are solely responsible for your User Content and any consequences of posting it.
• —We do not endorse User Content and do not guarantee its accuracy, integrity, or quality.
• —We may, but are not required to, review, screen, or moderate User Content before or after it is posted.

Images uploaded to Church Bridge are securely stored on Firebase Storage (Google Cloud). See our Privacy Policy for details.

6. Community Moderation

Church Bridge operates a role-based moderation system to keep communities safe and welcoming.

• —Church admins and moderators may mute, ban, or remove members from their community for violating these Terms or community standards.
• —Admins and moderators may remove, hide, or edit User Content posted in their community.
• —Church Bridge staff may take action on any content or account that violates these Terms or applicable law, including without prior notice.
• —Enforcement actions are made at our or the community administrator's sole discretion.
• —If you believe an action was taken in error, you may contact us using the details in Section 16.

7. Third-Party Services

Church Bridge relies on third-party services to deliver certain features. Your use of Church Bridge may involve interactions with these services, each governed by its own terms and privacy policy.

• —Firebase (Google LLC) — authentication, database, and hosting.
• —Firebase Storage (Google Cloud) — secure image uploads and hosting.
• —Expo Push Notification Service — delivery of mobile push notifications.
• —Apple Sign In and Google Sign In — optional authentication providers.
• —Gmail (via Nodemailer) — transactional email delivery.

We are not responsible for outages, changes, or actions taken by any third-party service.

8. Intellectual Property

All rights in the Church Bridge software, branding, logos, design, and content (excluding User Content) are owned by the developer or its licensors.

• —You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Church Bridge for its intended purpose, subject to these Terms.
• —You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works of any part of the Service without our prior written permission.
• —The Church Bridge name and logo are trademarks of the developer and may not be used without permission.
• —Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you.

9. Termination

These Terms remain in effect until terminated by you or by us.

• —You may terminate your account at any time by following the account deletion process described in our Privacy Policy.
• —We may suspend or terminate your access to Church Bridge at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or created risk or legal exposure for us.
• —Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately, but provisions that by their nature should survive (including Sections 5, 10, 11, and 12) will remain in effect.
• —Termination does not entitle you to any refund of any amounts, if applicable.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

Church Bridge is provided on an "AS-IS" and "AS-AVAILABLE" basis without any warranties of any kind.

• —To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
• —We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
• —We do not warrant the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any content, including User Content.
• —We do not warrant that any defects or errors will be corrected.
• —We do not guarantee the permanence or deletion of any content uploaded to the Service or to third-party services we rely upon.
• —We do not guarantee the continued availability of any third-party service that Church Bridge depends on.
• —You use Church Bridge entirely at your own risk.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer, operator, and any contributors to Church Bridge shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, including but not limited to:

• —Loss of data, loss of privacy, or unauthorized access to your information.
• —Damages arising from content uploaded to third-party services.
• —Damages arising from third-party service outages, errors, or policy changes.
• —Damages arising from email delivery failures or missed push notifications.
• —Damages arising from payment processing or donations handled by third parties.
• —Any other damages arising out of or in connection with your use or inability to use the Service.

This limitation of liability applies to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law and covers all current and future versions of Church Bridge, including any new features, updates, or changes. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations on certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the developer, operator, contributors, and affiliates of Church Bridge from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to:

• —Your use of or inability to use the Service.
• —Your violation of these Terms or the Privacy Policy.
• —Your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party.
• —Any User Content you submit, post, or transmit through the Service.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the Service, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. When we do:

• —We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
• —For material changes, we will provide reasonable notice through the app, by email, or by other means.
• —Your continued use of Church Bridge after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
• —If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service and may delete your account.

14. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

• —Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the competent courts of Romania.
• —You agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting us at the email address in Section 16.
• —Nothing in this Section limits any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have under the laws of your country of residence.
